Todd Gutmann Studios
I paint the texture of everyday life — the people, places, and moments that carry more story than they first reveal. My work moves between figure and landscape, memory and observation, humor and solitude. Using layered surfaces, earthy color, and expressive mark-making, I’m interested in the emotional weight of ordinary scenes: a chef in motion, a cowboy at rest, a weathered building, a field under a dramatic sky. These subjects are less about literal description than about character, presence, and the quiet drama hidden inside familiar places. I want the work to feel lived-in, a little rough around the edges, and honest enough to leave room for the viewer to find their own story inside it. Email me at todd.gutmann00@gmail.com
For the room that needs more than decor..
I draw inspiration from the people and places around me, and from the creative community I’m lucky to call friends. My recent show at the Art Centre of Plano was a reminder that art is about connection—between artist and viewer, between friends, and between the past and the present.
I believe in art that’s tactile, honest, and a little bit rough around the edges. If you’re looking for a painting that feels lived-in, or want to trade stories (or even services) for art, let’s talk. And if you’re an artist, designer, or collector who believes in collaboration over competition, you’re in the right place.
If you’re designing a space and want art that fits the room instead of fighting it, let’s talk. todd.gutmann00@gmail.com
Art that feels adaptable, calm and easy to specify.
